- Glass bead sterilisers (EA910) use dry heat at 240°C effectively incinerating all microorganisms. Tiny glass beads conduct heat much better than air and so sterilisation of instruments is very rapid. The temperature is not too high to ruin tempered stainless steel and discolour instruments. This instrument is ideal for sterilising the working end of scissors, tweezers and other instruments for use in laboratory operations, and veterinary practices.
The non-Dumont instruments are our brand, made for ProSciTech by a sizeable, well established manufacturer. We use three types of stainless steel.
AISI 420 high quality Japanese SS, which is identified by a catalogue number starting with TS. This is a hard steel and we recommend this for scissors and some tweezers that require to retain a sharp edge.
Anti-magnetic/anti-acid (AM/AA) steel which is identified by a catalogue number with the suffix -SA. This is particularly suited for tweezers because it is hard but springy, corrosion resistant and non-magnetic.
All other SS instruments are made of AISI 410 stainless steel.
We endeavour to hold adequate stock of all listed instruments. For special order items a minimum of 24 per smaller instrument item is required. Note also that we give a 10% discount on 10 or more scissors and 10 or more tweezers/ forceps of the same kind.

This and the following group contain four styles of pointed tweezers each. The first group is available in anti-magnetic/anti-acid steel, the second in both AM/AA and AISI 410 SS - see top of page.
These are well-made tweezers, however, for the most demanding work, including in electron microscopy and micro-dissections we recommend Dumont's Swiss Tweezers, see pages T1 and T2
All tweezers in this group are fine pointed and without serrations.
The No.5 tweezers are a popular style, straight, with fine points and no serrations.
The 5AR tweezers have fine points angled at 45° and no serrations.
The OO style are more solid tweezers, straight, stronger less pointed and no serrations.
The OOD style is like the OO but the tip area is serrated as is the finger grip area.
Very fine Iris type forceps, with horizontal serrated specimen grip surfaces; 100mm long.
Dressing/dissecting forceps with a concave leading edge from the body of the shank to the forceps tips. Each shank is moulded into a single unit with rounded ends. Each shank includes grooved gripping surfaces. The jaws of the forceps have horizontal serrations. Tip width 1.2mm. Overall length 125mm.
Anti-magnetic/anti-acid steel, brush finished tweezers have a rounded 2mm wide tip, which is very thin at the tip. and the inside of the tines is smooth. Suited for handling of coverslips. Length 120mm. This type is also available in Ti - see page T14.

These gauze pad holding forceps have many other uses in the laboratory. They are designed with a teardrop leading edge, with a teardrop cut out and rounded end. The jaws of the forceps have horizontal serrations. Ring (scissor) handles on the shank, with an interlocking ratchet. Box joint.
Concave leading edge leading to a finer straight section of the jaws, with a flat end. The jaws of the forceps have 1 x 2 small teeth with a smooth surface. Each shank is moulded into a single unit with rounded ends. Shanks with grooved gripping surfaces. Length 120mm.
Designed with a triangular shaped leading edge with a flat end. The jaws of the forceps have 2 x 3 teeth with horizontal serrations. Each shank is moulded into a single unit with rounded ends and has grooved gripping surfaces.

Very thin and light tweezers, also known as Storchschnabel. Long, very fine point, anti-magnetic/antiacid stainless steel. The long sheet metal tines give elasticity and prevent crushing of sensitive specimens. May be used for handling of foraminifera and other delicate specimens.
These self-closing tweezers have a powerful grip and provide that often needed "third hand" for jobs like soldering and fine assembly. Stainless steel with robust plastic grip pads. Overall length 165mm.
These self closing tweezers are 105mm long with serrated, curved tips. Brushed stainless steel.
These have "spade" tips, great for handling slides, wafers and coverslips. Standard and self-closing. Overall length 105mm.

Made of best Japanese anti-magnetic/anti-acid (AM/AA) steel. The curved tweezers have a small groove on the inside of the tip for picking up small grains 0.25 - 1.5mm. The straight tweezers have one wide forked tip and one narrower rounded tip. This combination is ideal for picking up particles >1mm.
Anti-acid/anti-magnetic steel, brush finished tweezers with special purpose tips. 120mm overall length.
T653B - The circle tip is suited to picking up round objects, which are 2mm or greater.
T6SMD - With the tweezers at a working angle theT tip tweezers have a 2mm tine adaptation, which is parallel to the working surface. With the tweezers turned over, they have a 1mm gripping point.
Made of best Japanese stainless steel, these tweezers are for handling SEM pin type mounts G040 and slug mounts G042. These lifter tweezers can handle round objects down to 8.5mm.
