Shelf Life
The tool will not perish if left sealed for long periods of time, however it is recommended that you re‐sterilise the tool after 2 years.
Sterilisation
Each tool is packed into a sterilisation pouch and heat treated for 20 minutes at 121°C (250°F) / 15 psi with Ethylene Oxide (EO). The special paper package allows for the EO gas to pass through the pores of the paper.
Tools can be re‐sterilised by rinsing the tip in ethanol and autoclave at the above settings.
Cleaning
If you choose to use these punches repeatedly, the recommended cleaning procedure is as follows;
- Clean tip between each sample extraction by coring blank filter paper over a cutting mat
- Rinse tip with ethanol and/or spray with compressed air to remove dried artifacts
- Rinse mat with ethanol after each sample extraction.

Silicone pin mats hold operating instruments in position, supported by soft spines. Lifting instruments off this mat is safer and easier since tools are supported by small protrusions, contaminants are not transferred to other tools, but drain through holes in the mat. These mats are easily cleaned and tolerate numerous cycles in an autoclave.
The silicone sterilisation tray mats are manufactured in line with RoHS and FDA standards, and can be used to cushion, protect and organise surgical instruments for sterilisation. Perforations allow for proper exposure and ventilation during the sterilisation process. The silicone pin mats can also be cut into smaller sections to fit any size basket or box.
Silicone is well known for its use in food, pharmaceutical and other clean industry applications and offers many advantages over other elastomers. It is non-toxic, easy to clean and does not retain odours. It is a resilient material, capable of maintaining many of its properties at extremely low and high temperatures (-40°C to 250°C). It is naturally electrically insulating. Silicone is highly tear-resistant and is unaffected by many solvents, including petrol.
Laboratory Tray / Utility Tray
Adding to the already existing range of autoclavable laboratories trays, this tray can be utilised for purposes ranging from drying glassware to sterilising and to store any laboratory apparatus.
Small: 203 x 152 x 51mm
Large: 254 x 203 x 51mm
Instrument Box
This multipurpose tray that can be used for sterilising, drying glassware, porecelainware & other laboratory instruments - steam autoclavable.
The handles assist in carrying reagents or laboratory apparatus from one place to another, single handedly.
The set includes one lightweight, precision handle and four interchangeable hardened steel tools for manipulating, scribing, spring assembly and probing. The precision handle is finely balanced, non-rolling, gold anodized with a split collet mounting and knurled lock nut. Length is 120mm
The precision forged tools are made of hardened nickel-plated tool steel, 40mm long with a 2mm diameter shank reduced to a 0.7mm (0.027") diameter. All tools are tapered to a sharp tip. Plastic container.
with interchangeable micro-tips, ideal for finest dissections
Micro‐Tools are the smallest available precision instruments for laboratory and production use. Micro‐Tools are available in different tip configurations with interchangeable tool handle. A threaded (tapped) handle (T900), this holds the tool. The tool is threaded for fixing to the handle, and holds in the case of T901 a needle 15mm x 0.5mm. The last 2mm of the needle are stepped down to only 0.12mm thick, and have a microscopic needle point ‐ see above image. Tools on 0.5mm or larger shanks are not stepped down. Tip material is hardened tool steel unless otherwise noted.
For micro‐tool storage box see T900‐BOX below.
Caution: Micro‐tools are very fine, hard and brittle. Take special care when removing from the tube. Press the blue square holding the tool onto a flat surface with the tube up at a shallow angle. Hold the tube near the other end and gently twist back and forth while pulling very lightly. The tube will suddenly clear the blue plastic, and the tool could easily touch the tube. Some tools are on a barely visible shaft extending slightly from the larger shaft. Practice removal first using the opposing blue stopper which does not hold a tool. See image below for clarification.
Note: Tools are packed by the manufacturer in perfect conditions. These tools like diamond knives and sapphire micro‐scalpels are assumed to have been shipped in perfect conditions and any problems almost certainly are due to mishandling.
Hardwood storage box for 8 micro-tool tips and 1 handle.
Note: Tools not included.
Bard Parker handles, all stainless steel, matt finish and grooved finger/ thumb grip. Length of handles only: No. 3 - 125mm; No. 4 -135mm; No. 5 - 160mm.

Swann-Morton disposable scalpels, sealed individually in trays, and boxed in units of 10. The sterile scalpels are individually packaged into a transparent thermo-formed tray, providing improved product visibility and assisting in safe passing techniques. When peeling the packet, the seal changes colour, thus indicating if the integrity of the packet has been breached and assuring the user of sterility up to the point of usage.
